Tinea Versicolor

Tinea Versicolor

Tinea Versicolor is a common, non-contagious fungal skin infection caused by a yeast that usually lives on the skin, leading to patches of skin that are lighter or darker than the surrounding skin. Treatment typically involves topical antifungal shampoos or creams, such as ketoconazole or selenium sulfide, or oral antifungal medications for more extensive cases. While the infection clears, the skin’s color may take months to return to normal.
