Tinea Cruris
Tinea Cruris, commonly known as jock itch or ringworm of the groin, is a fungal infection of the groin area. It’s characterized by a red, itchy rash, often with a ring-like appearance, that can spread to the inner thighs, buttocks, and sometimes the pubic or genital regions. The infection thrives in warm, moist environments and is caused by dermatophytes, a group of fungi that can spread through direct skin contact or contaminated surfaces. Provider may prescribe topical or oral antifungal medications as a treatment.
